1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Lightly oil or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3. In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, sugar, dates, salt, dates and pecans.
4. Mix thoroughly, using your hands to separate dates and mix ingredients.
5. Stir in applesauce, oil and vanilla and mix well.
6. Spoon or scoop rounded tablespoons onto prepared sheet and flatten slightly into disks about 1/2 inch thick.
7. Bake about 10 minutes, until edges begin to brown.
8. Repeat with remaining dough.
