1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream the shortening, sugar, water and vanilla.
3. Beat in the eggs one at time.
4. Combine the flour, cocoa, salt and baking soda.
5. Gradually add to the creamed mixture and beat, just until blended.
6. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
7. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.
8. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes.
9. Be sure not to over bake.
10. Cool 2 minutes before removing from the baking sheets to wire racks. |
